How Some Like It Hot ships globally-sourced craft hot sauces with the kind of presentation other 3PLs said was impossible.

A selection of craft hot sauces from independent producers worldwide

The brand

Some Like It Hot curates craft hot sauces from independent producers around the world — a large, ever-growing catalogue of SKUs sourced across dozens of countries, sold to customers as individual bottles and custom-built gift sets. Niblock handles their end-to-end fulfilment, from receiving international stock through to dispatching finished orders.

The challenge

Three problems ruled out most fulfilment providers from the outset:

A catalogue that keeps growing. Hundreds of SKUs across a global supplier network mean every shipment brings new products, new bottle sizes and new batch codes. Many small-brand 3PLs cap out at 50–100 SKUs before their slot systems break down.

Gift packaging that can't be automated. A significant share of orders are gift sets — multiple sauces chosen by the customer, hand-packed with care and presented so they arrive looking like a gift rather than a parcel. That is hand work; conveyor pick-and-pack lines simply can't do it.

A founder who wanted to stay close to the operation. Larger 3PLs offered scale but hid behind ticket systems and account managers. The brand needed direct access to the warehouse for wholesale splits, recall handling and the regular small adjustments a growing business requires.

Why Niblock

Two other fulfilment providers said the SKU range and gift packaging were too complex to quote. Niblock said yes in the first meeting. The decision came down to three things:

  • ✓Direct warehouse access. When something needs sorting, the brand picks up the phone — no tickets, no queues.
  • ✓A willingness to handle complexity. Hundreds of SKUs and hand-packed gifts didn't faze the team.
  • ✓A family-run operation that understands the pressures small brands face, because it works with brands like them every day.

How it works

Inbound and storage. New stock arrives regularly from international suppliers. Niblock receives each shipment, checks quantities and logs every SKU against its storage location, with the catalogue organised for fast picking from end to end.

Standard orders. Picked, packed in protective packaging suitable for glass bottles, and dispatched via tracked courier — typically same-day for orders placed before the daily cut-off.

Gift orders. Hand-assembled by the team: selected bottles are wrapped, arranged in a branded presentation box and dispatched with tracked delivery. Despite the hand work, turnaround is typically same- or next-day.

“When I need something, I speak to the team directly — not a ticket queue. They're the reason I can focus on finding new sauces instead of packing boxes.”— Some Like It Hot
